Corinthian Yacht Club of Edmonds

Foulweather Bluff Race

location

We decided to move the race to Kingston to make this race more social. The Port of Kingston is reserving all of their guest dock for us on Friday and Saturday nights, but you must call to make your own reservation and let them know you are participating in the race. The Kingston Cove Yacht Club (KCYC) is hosting us on Friday and Saturday nights at their nearby clubhouse and supporting the race. Downtown Kingston is a short walk away, with a variety of restaurants and bars. The Edmonds-Kingston ferry terminal is right next to the marina.

Friday Night

We will be having a welcoming event at KCYC on Friday Evening.  As part of Friday Night activities, we will be offering a hamburger meal for $10  ($5 for kids under 12).  Come join us and spend some time with fellow racers and our new friends at KCYC.  You can sign up and pay for the meal in advance during registration, or at our online store Foulweather Bluff Store   A limited amount of meals will be available for purchase Friday night, but ordering in advance helps us out with logistics.

The race

This is a mid-distance race with three course options of approximately 24, 14 or 10 nm including the following marks: start/finish at Apple Cove Point at Kingston, a temporary mark at Pilot Point, the Foulweather Bluff navigational buoy, and the Scatchet Head navigational buoy on the south end of Whidbey Island. (Scroll down for course map.)

The first division starts at 10:00 AM with a reverse starting sequence and multi-hulls in the last start. Yachts not flying spinnakers or with a PHRF-NW rating of 181 or slower race the Short Course.  All others race the Long Course. Scoring is Time on Time. You must have a PHRF-NW calculated speed rating or a current ORC certificate to be scored in this race.

Awards Party

KCYC will host us for the awards party at their clubhouse immediately after the race.  Free moorage will be available at the Port of Kingston so boats can attend the party.  There will be a non-host bar and pizza slices for sale.

MOORAGE

If you want to moor at Kingston, contact the Port of Kingston directly at (360) 297-3545. Make sure you tell them that you are a Foulweather Bluff racer so that your reservations fees are waived.
